“RESIST”

In 2017 producer of my album "The Rain" , DJ Mentos approached me about a group concept that he had been sitting on for sometime, "Analog Suspects" . As we begin to finish up the recording process for the album I began to draw inspiration from groups like GWAR, Wu Tang Clan and many others that had created a universe within their music. A lot of Hip Hop music is from a first person autobiographical perspective which is therapeutic when trying to process some of the traumatizing experiences that the music is born from. Though healing it can also be limiting creatively. What if Hip Hop could be approached from a new perspective? One where we not only talk about what is but also imagine what could be. I consulted with friend and artist Noah Scalin as his art and rock band “League of Space Pirates” serves as a perfect example of what I was looking to achieve. Oneday while watching the news I saw a story of how the KKK was leaving pamphlets and candy on peoples porches to recruit new members into their fold. I had a lightbulb moment of inspiration and the idea was born that Analog Suspects would use these subversive tactics to shake up the status quo not only within Hip Hop but the world at large. UNPLUG.RESIST. OVERTHROW.
